The Team...
iScienceDVD, LLC was created by Tory and Kristen Temple with the purpose of bringing high quality science teaching to the elementary school classroom. Both Tory and Kristen are teachers by day in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District. Kristen has been at Tovashal Elementary School for 11 years, and Tory has taught 8th grade science for 10 years at Shivela Middle School. Tory also works as a professor within the Educational Technology and Learning Masters Program at Azusa Pacific University for the last four years. Most of the technology and know-how to build this program was derived from his experiences within that APU program. Kristen also has a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from APU. Her years of experience with elementary school kids, coupled with her understanding of how to implement technology within the elementary school setting, proved to be a huge resource for planning an interactive DVD that would be implemented in elementary schools.
With 21 years of combined educational experience, they have analyzed the needs of the elementary school classroom setting and have spent thousands of hours designing video that would effectively teach and capture the attention of elementary school students.

As a team, Tory and Kristen believe firmly in creating lifelong learners and have created this disk series in hopes that it will light the insatiable fire of scientific curiosity in the hearts and minds of our planet's future.
However, that's not the entire team. Tory and Kristen have two children who have been important to the process as well. Breven, age 3, is the life behind the animated shell that is Quark. His voice was sampled by the camera and then digitally remastered to give Quark his energetic and playful qualities. Breven's personality played a huge roll in developing Quark's character and vitality. If you listen carefully, Atom calls Quark "Pal," which is one of Breven's nicknames, every so often as a tribute to the life that Breven has brought to Quark's character.
Cambria, age 7, was the prime sounding board for the content. She was more than willing to challenge her Dad on anything that didn't make sense. This information was the initial feedback that was used to correct and adjust the content to make it easily understandable to elementary school students. |
